Casey to play Bartoli
Casey Dellacqua has drawn ninth-seeded Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli in the first round of Wimbledon.
The world No.105 faces a daunting task but will go in knowing that she defeated Bartoli the last time they met – in the first round of the 2008 French Open. Bartoli, however, holds a 2-1 lead in their head-to-head record.
Dellacqua’s preparation for the grasscourt Grand Slam has been been mixed – a first-round exit in Nottingham followed by a third-round effort at Birmingham where she withdraw from her match against Jelena Jankovic.
The West Australian will be hoping to improve on her best result at Wimbledon – a third-round appearance in 2008.
Dellacqua is also playing in the doubles with world No.5 Sam Stosur. They will take on Sorana Cirstea and Ayumi Morita in the first round.
