Casey and Ash power into US Open final

Ash Barty and Casey Dellacqua have continued their dream run at the US Open, reaching the final with a straight-set rout of 10th seeds Sania Mirza and Zheng Jie.

The Aussies’ 6-2 6-2 victory saw them win 11 of the last 13 games of the match, and sent them through to their third Grand Slam doubles final of 2013.

Barty and Dellacqua are yet to drop a set at Flushing Meadows, and will line up in the final against either Venus and Serena Williams, or Czechs Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka.

Playing on Louis Armstrong Stadium, the Aussies attacked at every opportunity.

Barty clubbed a forehand winner down the line to help her team pocket the opening set, and the No.8 seeds continued to overwhelm the Indian-Chinese pairing in the second stanza, smacking 15 winners to five.

They sealed their finals’ spot in just one hour and five minutes, another notch on their belts to go with their Australian Open and Wimbledon finals appearances this season.

The Aussies have conceded an average of less than six games per match during their romp through the women’s doubles draw in New York.
