Casey out of Strasbourg International
Casey Dellacqua and doubles partner Ashleigh Barty have gone down at the WTA International level event in Strasbourg.
In the final tune-up event before Roland Garros commences on Sunday, Dellacqua on Wednesday went down in the second round to former world No.24 Christina McHale.
In a tight contest, the American prevailed 6-3 7-5 in 88 minutes, advancing to the quarterfinals where she will meet.
On Tuesday, qualifier Barty fell 7-5 7-5 to China’s Peng Shuai, the No.7 seed.
Dellacqua and Barty remain alive in the doubles event in Strasbourg; they are through to the quarterfinals after taking down Dutchwomen Demi Schuurs and Eva Wacanno 6-1 7-5 in the opening round.
